Darklands: A Vampire's Tale
"Darklands" is a fabulous urban fantasy novel, full off violence, paranormal creatures and fabulous sexual scenes. I was captured from the first page. I had to finish the book to see how this was going to end." --Natasja's Book Blog
This was an engrossing story from beginning to end... it draws you in deeply to the storyline and doesn't let go until the final page... I highly recommend this to those looking for an exciting read...B+
--Words of Wisdom....from The Scarf Princess
Darklands was definitely a change of pace. The tone was gritty, dark, and violent, with several cringe-worthy moments...I would recommend it to fans of urban fantasy and horror, and vampire romance looking for something darker.
--Book of Secrets
Burgess was new to me and she definitely impressed me. I look forward to more of her work, vampire's specifically!
--Leilani Loves Books
I was so exhausted with the "pretty" emo lacy vampires of fiction that I thought, that's it! I'm never reading another one! I quit!
Along comes Burgess with a story satisfyingly violent, gory enough to thrill, and sadistic enough to stir the audience to the darker yearnings of the villain and the hero alike.
--The Scarlet Libertine
Twenty years ago, Susan Archer witnessed the brutal murder of her beloved twin brother.
Now, the murderer, Devin McCree, has returned. Although Devin is a “Deathwalker,” Susan soon discovers that he is not the monster she has feared for so long. In fact, she realizes she is incredibly attracted to him.
Meanwhile, psychotic former Nazi vampire hunter Kasper has resurfaced from the depths of the past and is out to set the record straight with Devin.
Leaving her old life behind, Susan joins Devin on his run from Kasper.
Set against a shabby, Dystopian landscape, “Darklands: A Vampire’s Tale” is a violent tale of survival, bloodlust, and two people trying to hang on to the last shreds of their humanity.

Breaths in Winter
This anthology contains thirty-one stories that will make the little hairs on the back of your neck stand at attention. Come along for a trip to the rural areas of America where folklore becomes reality, to the brightly lit cities where demons await, and then travel to the ghost town that is Chernobyl. Each story takes you on a creepy journey where nothing is as it seems.
It is not often that you read an anthology and are unable to pick out several stories that just do not work. Typically the nature of a collection is that some stories are good, others not so much. With Breaths in Winter, I enjoyed every story. I think the reasons I like them so much is the creativity and originality and the many unexpected twists and turns. These are not stories that have been done a thousand different ways. Each is a unique and compelling glimpse into a world we do not want to be a part of but cannot help but look.
--Bitten By Books
Thirty-two tales of horror from acclaimed author Donna Burgess. Enter the world of vampire, zombies, ghosts and people who aren't quite sane. Travel the darkest roads, from the American South to the Chernobyl contamination zone and find out what lies in wait. FOR MATURE READERS.
This is a compilation of the short-story singles listed, including, Breaths In Winter, The Dancing Water, The Dead Girl's Blog, Abigail, Scarecrow John, Twilight Poison and many others.

Solstice
On the eve of winter Solstice, a massive flash envelopes the Earth and then there is nothing. The sun no longer shines and civilization is plunged into unending darkness. Those exposed to the mysterious flash have changed—they have become blood-thirsty, cunning, and determined to devour anyone who is not infected. They are Ragers.
In Sweden, a group of uneasy travelers hear a broken broadcast. There is hope. Something called Sanctuary waits, but it is thousands of miles away, somewhere on the shores of the British Isles.
Meanwhile, in London, a high school English teacher from the States finds himself stranded along with a handful of students on a senior trip, inside a supermarket. Outside, hoards of hungry Ragers await, ready to tear them limb from limb. Their only hope is to find Sanctuary.
Solstice is a tale of hope, terror, survival, and finding love at the end of the World.
