Helen J. Christmas

Picture
My name is Helen Christmas and live with my husband Peter on the south coast of England. Writing is something I am not only passionate about, but feel has always been in my blood. I have dreamed of being an author - yet never felt I could take that next step, until I was confident I had created something worthy of being published.

It seems a long time ago I published my debut novel 'Beginnings' which is the first book in the series 'SAME FACE DIFFERENT PLACE'. I have been greatly encouraged by the response I've had from its first readers. Descriptions such as 'A complete page turner' -  'A great read' have boosted my confidence no end and it pleases me to know my stories have such potential to entertain.

Beginnings (Same Face Different Place)

Picture
Beginnings is my debut novel: a fast paced thriller, set against a backdrop of organised crime and based in the East End of London. It is the story of 16 year old Eleanor Chapman whose Father, Oliver, is forced into hiding, leaving her in the hands of dangerous people. But during a short spell in captivity, she stumbles across another prisoner - a mysterious musician from Holland, named Jake - the one witness of a scene leading to a devastating car bomb which claimed the life of a British MP - but now those responsible want him silenced. Desperate to escape, the two of them find a safe place to hide - but as two young people thrown together by fate, they fall in love - their only wish to survive and to flee from the people who have placed their lives in danger.

With several of 4/5 star reviews, 'Beginnings' is now available on Amazon Kindle with now also available on Amazon in paperback.

The Series

Picture
I loved writing this book which not only drew me to London to conduct some of my research, but also Nijmegan in Holland and then back to London and Kent to choose the setting for the second book. To read more about my own experiences as a writer as well as the books please see the website http://www.samefacedifferentplace.co.uk where you can also visit my blog.

I am currently writing my second book, Visions, which is the second book of the series. Set in the 1980s, this is a dark, psychological thriller based around the restoration of an English country house in rural Kent - where 12 years have passed since the original characters from Book 1 survived but whose lives are once again placed under threat, as familiar deadly enemies begin to surface again.

VISIONS HAS NOW BEEN COMPLETELY RE-WRITTEN AND DUE TO BE PUBLISHED BEFORE THE END OF SUMMER 2013.
